A popular Christian camp and retreat located in Estill County suffered a huge loss today.
Fire departments responded to the camp, near the Estill and Lee County line, a little before noon today.
According to a post by the Miller’s Creek Fire Department, they fought the fire at one of the primary buildings for around four hours.
Aldersgate is a Christian campground operated by the Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church, Aldersgate exists to foster faith development and Christian community within the natural beauty of God’s creation.
The camp offers year-round retreat options, including field trips, day retreats, and overnight programs, along with summer camps held in June and July each year.
The property spans roughly 304 acres and includes facilities such as cabins, RV and tent sites, and full hookups, along with a swimming pool, Wi‑Fi, pet-friendly areas, and more.
