Estill County water main break repaired, boil water advisory remains in effect

******BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED******

As of 12:35 PM Thursday, November 30, 2023 the Estill County Water District has lifted the Boil Water Advisory

ORIGINAL STORY

A water main break that closed Estill County Schools Tuesday and impacted thousands of customers and many Estill County businesses was successfully repaired last night.

That according to officials with Estill County Water District #1. The District still has that boil water advisory in effect potentially through Friday of this week.  The advisory impacts:

Richmond Rd, Shady Lane, Riverview Rd, Dark Hollow/North Dark Hollow, Reese St., Cedar Grove Rd, West Cedar Grove Rd, Glory St., Bond St., Garrett Ave, Blakes Way, Harvest Dr, Camp St, Stacy Lane Rd, N Stacy Lane, Family Circle, Tyler Lane, Fauste Rd, Panorama View, Forrest Hill Dr, Whispering Woods, Ridge Rd, Robbins St, Mansfield, Ovelook Dr, Sandhill Rd, Shelton Lane, Rio Valley Dr, Falls Creek, Summit Dr, Walnut Grove, Clearcreek, Ricestation, S Irvine Rd, Doe Creek Rd, Cherokee Ct, North and south Minor Lane, Lincoln Ave, Olive St, Front St, Sparks Ave, Hearld St, Crabtree Lane, Wisemantown Rd, VC Witt Rd, Hilltop, Red Lick Rd from 18-353, Coral Ave, South and North Winn Ave, Glynn Ct, Estill Acres, Dug Hill Rd, Pea Ridge Rd, Shawnee Dr, Hoys Fork, and Hunting Club Rd.

If you are impacted remember it is recommended that customers boil any tap water for three minutes they intend to use for consumption — such as for drinking, cooking, or making ice. After boiling water, customers should let the water cool before consuming it.

The water district will advise customers on their Facebook once it is no longer necessary to boil water.  We will pass that along as well here at WBON-TV. Customers with questions should call 1-606-723-3795.
