Estill County Middle School and High School were both placed on lockdown earlier Tuesday morning.
Around 8:40 this morning the Board of Education confirmed, out of an abundance of caution, both the middle school and high school were placed on lockdown while their School Resource Officer investigated a “potential concern.”
The district added that there is no immediate threat to students and staff, and now say the lockdown was lifted. No further information has been released outside of school officials at the time of publication.
