Firefighters arrived on scene around 5 a.m. Saturday, to find the home already fully engulfed. The structure was in South Irvine, right across from South Irvine School.
According to Fire Chief Derrick Muncie, the home was empty and ended up being a total loss. The owners lived nearby, so no one was displaced as a result of the fire, but the property was destroyed. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters endured temperatures around zero this morning while working to contain the fire.
