Those in the area who have low or fixed income can now possibly receive assistance through two programs for their heating bills here in Madison County. Kentucky River Foothills announced today that beginning Monday, November 5th, those wishing to receive help paying these utilities can apply, whether renters or homeowners. Appointments must be scheduled, and can receive the energy assistance benefit for gas, electric, kerosene, even propane, coal, or wood. The amount received is based on the level of poverty of the recipient.
