The pursuit of a motorcyclist began Wednesday July 6, 2023, in Powell County, where officials say a suspect failed to yield to a traffic stop and eluded officers at speeds estimated to be over 100 mph. The Powell County Sheriff’s office issued the feature photo, asking the public’s help to identify the person.
That pursuit ended last night on Catalpa Loop here in Madison County. Just before 9:00 p.m., Trooper Robinson of the Kentucky State Police reports he attempted to make a traffic stop on a Green Kawasaki Ninja Motorcycle for a vehicle infraction on KY-52 in Madison County. The operator, later identified as Brady Fannin, 24 years old of Magoffin County, failed to yield, at which point a pursuit was initiated.
KSP Troopers followed the fleeing cyclist onto KY-52 and turned onto Catalpa Loop. Fannin made a U-turn on Catalpa Loop and turned down a private drive, where he lost control and laid the motorcycle down.
Fannin was arrested and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center. He was charged with the following:
1. Speeding 26 or More Over Speed Limit 2.
2. Fleeing or Evading Police – 2nd Degree (Motor Vehicle)
3. Operating on Suspended License
4. No Registration Plate
The case remains under investigation by Trooper Tyrus Robinson. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel.
