Magistrate for the 3rd District in Madison County John Tudor has held the position for four years now, and wants to snag another term next week in the 2018 elections. Tudor says his third district is the largest in the county, and has nearly double the length of roads.
He is still a farmer to this day after being raised on a family farm. Tudor cites these life experiences as teaching him honesty, integrity, and the value of a hard day’s work.
Therefore, Tudor prides himself and the rest of the Fiscal Court for laying more blacktop in the district than anywhere else County-wide as he was able to secure money per mile for the 3rd. He says the county has been moving forward but there is still a few jobs he wants to see through. Talking with people and working towards a common goal is something that Tudor says is of utmost importance, and that sometimes that collaboration is lacking.
Also important, Tudor adds, is the chronically overcrowded Madison County Detention Center. Although he says he supports Judge/Executive Taylor, he says an expansion of the jail as opposed to the originally proposed treatment center is crucial. He also elaborates that a SAP program needs to be implemented so that those who are addicted can learn real life skills before they walk out of the jail.
Tudor also serves on multiple boards, including at his church. He ends his sitdown by saying that he has proven himself in this first term, and he wants to continue to represent the people of the third district.
