Democratic Candidate for the 81st District Morgan Eaves is a Richmond native and current City Commissioner as well as lawyer.
She is seeking to take her ideas to Frankfort to represent the heart of Madison County. During her two minute sitdown, Eaves spoke about the need for Medicare expansion to continue in reference to the drug epidemic. Eaves explained that there are underlying medial causes to addiction in most cases, and she believes better insurance would allow those struggling with addiction to get the help they need.
We also discussed the living wage, which Eaves pointed out that with a 30% poverty rate here in Madison County, the minimum wage must be upped statewide.
Education and its centrality to Madison county were also brought up by Eaves, and she discussed the need for more funding despite the continued cuts to both public universities such as EKU as well as at the lower level.
