Retired Lt. Colonel Amy Mcgrath says she wants to head straight to Washington to represent Kentucky’s 6th District as an American, not a Democrat or a politician. McGrath came in for a two minute sitdown, and explained that there are not enough former military in Congress right now, and she seeks to change that. Following a campaign rally this past weekend in Bath County, McGrath is going up against Congressman Andy Barr, who now has the backing of the President.
McGrath, a Kentuckian, went viral since her campaign kicked off, and says this was a total surprise to her, that she just knew in her heart she wanted to run for the Congressional seat after the 2016 General elections. She and her campaign have now raised a whopping 3.4 Million dollars, something that McGrath says she never in her wildest dreams would have imagined.
Besides getting more on her backstory as a fighter pilot, McGrath also went over some key points of her platform, which has an emphasis on healthcare reform, bringing technology to Eastern Kentucky, as well as her lengthy economic plan.
As this race in particular seems to be getting contentious, McGrath urged all those in the 6th Congressional District to get out and vote this November 6th and says that Kentuckians need change here in the 6th District.
