Eastern Kentucky President Michael Benson welcomed teachers back to Eastern Kentucky University. In his speech he showed off some of the construction that has been completed over the summer. Some of the new construction is the new on campus Starbucks which is the largest in the state. There will also be new dining options for students, a new faculty lounge, and a new rec center.
He also addressed the tuition for students, which is currently under a freeze. Benson stated that EKU was one of the first in the state to announce that tuition will not be increasing. However, students will have to pay a fee for every class that they take with a maximum amount of $150.
