The Kentucky Hunger Dialogue strives to create hunger-free future for all Kentucky college students by creating partnerships in our communities, collaborating with college food pantries, and increasing awareness through their annual Kentucky Hunger Dialogue conference.
The Kentucky Hunger Dialogue announced a collaborative food drive with Eastern Kentucky University’s Colonels Cupboard, and the event will be hosted at the Madison County Public Library. The drive will take place from April 15th to April 26th to support students facing food insecurity at EKU.
The Colonels Cupboard helps EKU students who struggle to afford nutritious meals due to financial constraints. The partnership between the Kentucky Hunger Dialogue and Colonels Cupboard underscores a shared commitment to addressing food insecurity and ensuring that all students have access to essential resources.
The food drive encourages community members, library patrons, and EKU students, faculty, and staff to donate non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and peanut butter. Donation bins can be found at the Madison County Public Library throughout the duration of the drive.
All donated items will be collected and distributed to students in need through the Colonels Cupboard at EKU. By participating in the food drive, community members can directly contribute to alleviating food insecurity among college students.
