Eastern Kentucky University has accepted the offer to transfer the ownership of the White Hall Historic Site. Eastern Kentucky University will now be responsible for maintenance of the property. No education funding will be used for maintenance of the park and the park will remain open to the public. EKU will use the park for educational purposes as well as for events. EKU president Michael Benson says that the school will preserve the property and honor is historical significance to the state.
