The National Weather Service survey team today confirmed the same EF-1 tornado that the same funnel cloud that originated in Madison County, did cross county lines and hit the area of western Estill County in the graphic. Estill County Emergency Management worked in conjunction with the NWS to make the determination today.
Estill EMA has had a busy week not only with the tornado aftermath, but again, torrential rain caused moderate to severe flooding in many areas of the county. The flood waters crossed several county roads forcing shutdowns of roadways. This morning the Kentucky River and Red River officially crested and are expected to be back to near normal levels by Friday.
