Kentucky’s primary election is fast approaching on Tuesday, May 16th. Here in Madison County, early voting will begin in the morning Thursday, May 11th. This year we will be choosing a new Governor, and a few other state level positions. Here locally, the county wide liquor vote is being closely watched by proponents as a possible economic “game changer” for many.
There are a total of eight polling (or voting) locations for the entire county election day, but starting tomorrow, half of those locations will be accepting early voting, with no excuse necessary. Those locations are:
Russel Acton Folk Center 212 W. Jefferson Street (Berea)
Ignite Academy North Campus 2075 Merchant Drive (Richmond)
Madison Co. Public Library507 W. Main Street (Richmond)
Madison Co. Extension Office 230 Duncannon Lane (Richmond)
Early voting at these locations will continue through Saturday May 13th. The hours to vote are 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. On actual election day, Tuesday May 16th, you can vote at those locations as well as these additional locations:
Berea Church of God: 189 Rash Rd. (Berea)
The Mule Barn: 1510 Lexington Rd. (Richmond)
Eastside Community Church: 2010 Catalpa Loop (Richmond)
White Hall Baptist Church: 3401 Colonel Rd (Richmond)
Unlike in the past, you can vote at whatever location is most convenient or preferred on election day. Election day, the polls will be open from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., but for everyone in line before 6 p.m., the polls will remain open to accept your ballot. Remember, you can vote election day at any of the listed eight locations.
Richmond’s premier local radio station, 100.7 ‘The Coyote’ will have election coverage and results on Tuesday night LIVE including results of the local and state votes and races of interest. The coverage begins at 6 p.m.
