Laurel County Sheriff John Root confirms the pedestrian hit early this morning by a truck was pronounced dead on scene. Deceased is 32-year-old Chadwick Smith of Leslie County, who was killed early Sunday when walking south on Hwy 25. He was struck by a truck traveling northbound.
The news release added, Sheriff Root said the dark rural roadway, about 7 miles South of London was a contributing factor. The driver of the truck was Roger Roark, 69, of London, who was reportedly uninjured. The accident occured around 2:30 am.
