A reportedly abandoned house in South Irvine is a total loss following an early morning blaze today. According to Estill County Fire Department, a motorist going to work was the first to report the call around 4 a.m. this morning. The witness stated the structure was fully engulfed.
Minutes later, when fire crews arrived, the one and half story home had already collapsed. Estill County Fire Chief Derrick Muncie says the home was confirmed abandoned but was recently purchased. The Chief states unfortunately, the new owner did not have insurance and it was a total loss. No injuries were reported.
