Due to weather conditions and the forecast of precipitation today, the second day of the scheduled two-day closure of KY 3354 (Cat Creek Road) in Powell County has been moved from Tuesday, May 14, to Thursday, May 16.
Work began yesterday on a full-width paving project between milepoints 0 and 2. Due to the narrowness of the roadway, the paving equipment will take up the whole width of the pavement as it moves through the project area.
Work will begin at 7 a.m. and should be completed by 8 p.m. During this time, the road will be closed to all through traffic at the work site.
No signed detour will be posted, but drivers can use either KY 1057, KY 213, and KY 11/KY 15 through Stanton; or KY 1057, KY 1639, and KY 11/KY 15 through Bowen; as an alternate route while the work is ongoing.
In case of inclement weather, the work may be postponed until another suitable date.
Approximately 275 vehicles use this section of KY 3354 each day.
