WBON-TV9 has confirmed the rescue effort this afternoon at Boonesborough State Park is a search for a possible drowning victim in the Kentucky River.
The site of the old ‘Boonesborough Beach” is an active scene this afternoon with, fire, rescue, and law enforcement from Madison, Clark and Fayette Counties repsonding to the area.
The search is reportedly for a 17-year-old. Eyewitnesses have told authorities the teenager was reported to have gone under the water and never resurfaced.
