Fans of 90s country music will have a memorable way to kick off their weekend when country music supergroup Diamond Rio takes the stage at the Vine at Chenault Vineyards. First signing with a major record label in 1991, it didn’t take long for Diamond Rio to make their mark. In February of that year, the band debuted at the number one position on the Billboard Hot Country songs charts with their single “Meet in the Middle” – the first band to ever do so. Diamond Rio has performed over 30 more singles that saw success on the charts, including 6 more number one hits. This Friday, the hills outside of Richmond will be the home of great music and wine at Chenault Vineyards. General Manager Christina Chenault tells WBON there’s plenty of ways you can enjoy the show.
Even though Diamond Rio is headlining the concert, the music doesn’t begin there. Area band Call to Post will be the opening act for the award-winning group, after they won Chenault Vineyards’ Battle in the Vines competition. The idea for the competition came due to the plethora of talented musical acts in the region.
The Diamond Rio concert is scheduled to begin at 6pm, and before that, there will be a free pre-party show at the Welcome Center featuring Nic Casetta and Jake Vanover. The Vine Concert Series will have three more shows scheduled throughout the Summer with Easton Corbin, Neal McCoy, and Richmond’s own Exile headlining each event.
