A young mother-to-be in Berea got an unexpected blessing last week. After a chance encounter with a community member with a big heart, she found herself days later having a baby shower that any mother would envy.
Once he heard about this young lady’s needs, Jeffrey Carpenter went to social media to ask the community for support. Within hours, a college student named Carter Heller had partnered with Jeffrey to host a baby shower at St. Clare Catholic Church. From an online registry, over 90 gifts were purchased and given to the young lady at the shower. These gifts were purchased not only by Berea citizens, but by individuals across the country who were inspired by this effort to support a member of the community.
