Rehabilitation underway for Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County
The project between milepoints 71.668 and 73.408
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of work currently underway for I-75. This is part of the rehabilitation project that includes milling and resurfacing for the interstate. Pavement conditions will be addressed in both north and south directions. In addition, guardrail will be repaired for specific sections as necessary.
Interstate 75 – Southbound
Monday, July 15 through Tuesday, July 16 – 8 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday
Tuesday, July 16 through Wednesday, July 17 – 8 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday
· milling operations will be in effect with a double lane closure
· motorists are diverted onto the right shoulder while the milling of the middle lane is in progress
· traffic will continue on the right/slow lane and shoulder for the next several days (until lanes are milled and repaved)
Interstate 75 – Northbound
Monday, July 15 through Sunday, July 21 – currently and continuing until 5 a.m. Sunday
o a barrier wall remains in place at milepoint 72.8 for continued slide repairs
o traffic is reduced to two lanes and be diverted onto the right/slow lane and shoulder
All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
