A tragic story out of Estill County. EMS and Irvine Police were summoned to a residence on Francis Street today for the apparent drowning of a 4-year-old male child Friday afternoon May 17th.
Sources say the child was part of a family from Lexington visiting relatives in Irvine.
Police say when they arrived, approximately 2:45 today, the child was found unresponsive. The child was then transported to Marcum Wallace Hospital where he was pronounced deceased around 2:55. The child has been taken to Frankfort for an official autopsy.
An investigation into the death is pending by the Irvine Police Department.
