Cameron visits Richmond on the campaign trail

Following recent visits by Governor Andy Beshear in Madison County, Kentucky Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Daniel Cameron was in Richmond today speaking at a function held at Lynwood Estate on Lexington Road.

Madison County Judge Executive Reagan Taylor introduced Cameron to the large crowd around noon on Friday, commending the Attorney General for his fight against opioids and drug companies that had significant impacts in Madison County.

Cameron began the speech with a message that resounded with the crowd.

Cameron says he sees a very unified Republican Party that can beat Andy Beshear in the upcoming general election. Cameron criticized his opponent, saying his views and beliefs are not aligned with the citizens of Kentucky. The gubernatorial candidate cited examples of the Governor closing down churches, but allowing abortion clinics and liquor stores to remain open during the coronavirus pandemic. Cameron also cited what he described the vast increases in crime across the state during Beshear’s term in office.
