Boyfriend files assault charges against Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy

Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle has placed one of his deputies on administrative leave after she was charged with assault by her boyfriend after an alleged domestic violence incident.  Madison County Deputy Jennifer Lee Kermeen was subsequently arrested stemming from those charges from an alledged altercation that occurred on Nov 30th, where the alleged victim then filed a complaint with Kentucky State Police.

According to his own complaint, the alleged victim admitted to going through Kermeen’s phone, which led Kermeen to become agitated and demanding the man leave her home.  When the man refused, he claims Kermeen became violent striking him and being verbally abusive towards him.  Nearly a week after the alleged altercation, the male subject then also filed for an emergency protection order (EPO) against Kermeen.

Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle told WBON-TV “Deputy Kermeen is not only a wonderful person, but an excellent deputy, and a terrific K-9 handler for the department. This was an off-duty matter that we must let KSP’s investigation now playout and cannot make further comment on the ongoing investigation.”

Kermeen’s arraignment in Madison County District Court will be January 18th.
