Berea municipal utilities has placed all customers on boil water advisory.
General manager Kevin Howard says as part of the berea phase 3 project, Berea municipal utilities and southern Madison water district infrastructure must be relocated at the intersection of Big Hill Rd., Gabbardtown Road and Shortline Pike.
According to a press release this afternoon, a critical piece of equipment used to isolate a section of the line failed and caused low water pressure to several areas of the BMU and SMWD water systems.
Effective immediately everyone served by both water systems are under a boil water advisory. BMU customers are anticipated to remain under the advisory for the next 24 hours or so, and SMWD customers approximately the next 48 hours.
