A fire at a residence at 2270 Christy Creek Road in Morehead, reported last night, has led to a death investigation.
Upon arriving on scene, Troopers say, they were informed by Morehead Firefighters that after the fire was extinguished, they located a body inside the home. The victim, now identified, as Stanley R. Erwin, 62 years of age, of Morehead.
Mr. Erwin was pronounced deceased on scene by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by Rowan County Coronor’s Office and Morehead Fire Department.
