Last Friday, Darrell Billings filed paperwork with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance and Kentucky Secretary of State officially declaring his intent to seek the Republican nomination for State Representative in the 91st House District. A seat currently held by incumbent Bill Wesley. This sets up a rematch of the two as Wesley defeated Billings in the last election cycle for the seat.
The District includes Powell, Estill, and a large portion of Madison counties.
Billings is a 3rd generation farmer and lifelong native of Powell County, where he continues to live with his wife, Jennifer. He is the owner and operator of Tanner Dodge in Stanton and attended Eastern Kentucky University.
Recently, Billings served on the transition team for Kentucky State Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell. He is the President of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association and former Chairman of the Kentucky FFA Foundation Board.
