If you have ever thought about keeping bees, but don’t know much about it, this is for you.
Berea’s Urban Farm is planning a workshop entitled “Introduction to Backyard Beekeeping>” The event is slated for Saturday, Feb 24, at 10am via zoom. So you can learn right at home on your phone or laptop.
This is for people with little or no experience with beekeeping, but an interest in learning more. Jamie Hart and Richard Olson will introduce basic bee biology and management using three types of hives (Layens, top bar, and Langstroth). The workshop will provide lists of resources for self-study, and depending on the interests of the group, arrange additional workshops.
