Berea receives grant from KY League of Cities utilized for backup cameras in vehicles

The Kentucky League of Cities recently presented the City of Berea with a KLC Liability Grant. KLC has awarded more than $6.5 million to its members since 1999 to help fund initiatives to reduce liability for its members.

“The City of Berea is deeply grateful to the Kentucky League of Cities for their continued support and the valuable grants they provide,” Interim City Administrator Shawn Sandlin said. “Thanks to this generous grant, we have been able to install backup cameras in our vehicles, enhancing safety and providing a more secure option when reversing. Your commitment to helping communities like ours make meaningful improvements is truly appreciated.”

“At KLC, we are dedicated to serving our members,” stated KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney. “We are grateful to be able to help our members fund important initiatives that reduce liability and provide the best quality of life for their citizens.”

KLC Insurance is the commonwealth’s largest municipal insurance program. The agency helps members increase public safety with proactive programs and services and provides affordable liability, property, workers’ compensation, and other municipal insurance products.

The Kentucky League of Cities also offers employee benefits programs, legislative advocacy, financial and municipal law services, training, community development, and other resources that serve cities.
