During Berea’s Tuesday night city council meeting it was declared police week in Berea. The proclamation read by Mayor Fraley said “(Berea) salutes the officers of the community and in the communities across the nation.” There was also an update to the Berea code of conduct for legislative bodies. The code of conduct was created by City Administrator Randy Stone with input from Mayor Fraley. Mayor Fraley explained that these will act as guidelines for any existing legislative bodies and for legislative bodies that are created in the future. It was also announced that delegates from Berea’s sister city Hokuto City, Japan will be visiting and the public will be able to meet the delegates Thursday during Picking on the Porch where the delegates have prepared a special dance for everyone to participate in.
