The Kentucky League of Cities presented Berea Mayor and KLC Executive Board member Bruce Fraley with a Level III Master of City Governance award recently. City Administrator Rose Beverly and Councilmember David Rowlette were presented with Level I Achievement in City Governance awards.
KLC administers the City Officials Training Center, a voluntary education program. City officials can complete education levels by attending KLC events and submitting outside educational credit from other municipal training.
The Level I Achievement in City Governance award requires a city official to attend a minimum of 29 hours of approved training with one hour of ethics training. The Level III Master of City Governance award requires a city official to attend a minimum of 87 hours of approved training with three hours of ethics training.
“The City of Berea continues to emphasize the importance of training for both elected officials and city staff, and the best source of training is the Kentucky League of Cities training program,” Mayor Fraley said. “In fact, it is nice to have a one-stop shop for all of our training needs. The training offered by KLC is top quality training and helps us do our jobs and ensure that we are following the rules as we conduct the business of the people we serve. Councilmember Rowlette’s and City Administrator Beverly’s training recognition demonstrates this commitment and sets a great example for all to follow. Thanks to KLC for helping us do a better job in serving our city.”
“KLC is committed to helping local leaders continuously learn and grow,” said KLC Executive Director|CEO James D. Chaney. “These awards, achieved through the KLC City Officials Training Center program, are a testament to the dedication and community service of these City of Berea officials.”
