A Berea man is under arrest after a Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy, observed his vehicle, traveling on Battlefield Memorial Highway just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with no headlights on.
According to the officers report, 30 year old Joesph Sell of Berea then failed to yield when officers tried to pull him over and took them on a high-speed chase over Muddy Creek Road onto Log Cabin Road. Officers say it appeared Sell’s car had stalled. Officers then got out and tried to stop Sell, but they say he disregarded verbal commands, and took off again almost striking a deputy.
The pursuit continued onto Gravel Lick Branch Road and the pursuit ended when Sell wrecked the car into a farm fence, just before reaching Webb Road. Officers say Sell’s vehicle had a registration plate that did not belong on the vehicle, his license was suspended, and the vehicle had no windshield.
The vehicle was towed and Sell was taken to the Madison County Detention Center. He’s facing a slew of charges, including evading, criminal, mischief, reckless driving, and several other related charges.
