Hitz BBQ has closed, and Berea City Councilmember Katie Startzman is reminding local residents about the importance of getting out and supporting local, small businesses, including restaurants. Startzman made her remarks at last Tuesday’s Berea City Council meeting that came on the heels of news that Hitz BBQ at exit 77 has closed its doors, according to the recap by Berea City Government.
Startzman is also the proprietor of two local restaurant businesses and raised the issue in reference to the one-year anniversary of the opening of Honeysuckle Dining and Bourbon House.
Said Startzman: “I just want to point out the fact that this is a really challenging time for local businesses, and local restaurants, and that if you value having businesses that are not chains in Berea, now is the time to support them.”
