The Burger King on Prince Royal Drive in Berea will close at the end of October. That according to Ashley Nicole, a manager at the facility. Nicole says at this time, it is uncertain if the restaurant will reopen.
According to Nicole, EG America, the company that owns the fast-food restaurant and the Minit Mart it is tethered to in Berea, has decided to sell the Minit Marts. That means the Burger King, that shares the same facility, will be sold as well to “Casey’s.”
Nicole expressed to WBON-TV9 only the Burger King staff will be affected, not the Minute Mart staff. She added, the company gave the staff ample notice weeks ago, and generous severance pay. There is a possibility another franchisee might buy and reopen the restaurant. If not, the closure will be indefinite.
Casey’s is a convenience store chain mostly in the midwest and southern parts of the U.S. The company is headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa. The chain is known for its variety of pizza’s, among other branded foods.
