WBON-TV9 has been closely following the disappearance of a woman in Breathitt County this week. Today, Breathitt County Sheriff John Hollan says a man has been taken into custody this morning in connection with “a missing person case.” Although unofficial at this time, all indications are the arrest is in connection to the disappearance of Joanie Campbell. Campbell was last seen at a Jackson convenient mart Thursday January 4, 2024, around 2 p.m. She never made it to her destination.
According to Sheriff Hollan, a man was detained at approximately 5 a.m. this morning. He was brought in for questioning related to a “missing person case.” Within a few hours, he was arrested by KSP and lodged in the Perry County Jail around 9 this morning. That man is 46-year-old Fairley Duane Napier of Clayhole in Breathitt County.
Napier is charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. He is lodged in the Kentucky Regional Jail in Hazard.
