Andy Barr visits Madison County Constituents, Pediatric Cancer Patient

Congressman Andy Barr visited Richmond on Monday and spoke to a class of a child with pediatric cancer at Boonesborough Elementary school in Northern Madison County.

Fifth-grader Ryan Cremeens is diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer. In the United States, the disease accounts for 3% of all new childhood cancers each year.

Creemens looks up to Barr, who was a co-sponsor for the STAR act (childhood cancer legislation taken up by Congress to advance pediatric cancer research and other cancer treatments focused on children. It also monitors childhood cancer and provide treatments). Creemens invited Barr to his elementary school to talk to his classmates.

Barr then went on to have lunch at Golden Corral where many community members showed up to hear the Congressman speak, including WBONTV.

Community members brought forth concerns and Barr was there to listen to his constituents.
