On May 1st in Richmond near Main St. Richmond Police report responding to a call that involved 32 year old James Allen Ingram breaking the windshield of a car. After making the phone call, the victim, also the girlfriend of Ingram reportedly went to the Police Station afterwards were she began to explain what happened.
According to records the victim stated that the two had gotten into an argument were she then proceeded to drop him off at the library. Once Ingram got out of the car the victim reports rolling up her windows. According to officials, the victim stated this angered Ingram and caused him to kick the door of the car and proceed to grab the victim’s seat belt from the rear as the vehicle was still moving. According to reports the Victim had trouble breathing during the altercation and that Ingram struck her on the left side of her face.
The victim told police while she drove away Ingram then struck the back windshield of her vehicle damaging the glass. Police report locating Ingram at the Library some time later where he denied the incident ever happened. Police say Ingram had a friend who he said could prove his innocence. The witness stated that Ingram had previously told them about hitting the windshield substantiating the victim’s statements.
Ingram was then Transported to the Madison County Detention Center.
