Wednesday, July 26, 2023, just before 4:30 p.m., Kentucky State Trooper Hutchison attempted to make a traffic stop on a Red Toyota Tacoma for a vehicle infraction on US-25 in Madison County. The operator, Jennifer Martin, 44 years old of Berea, failed to stop, and that initiated a pursuit. KSP Troopers followed the fleeing vehicle north on US-25 into Richmond for approximately 3 miles before the vehicle was stopped. Ms. Martin also allegedly hit another vehicle during her attempt to flee.
Ms. Martin was arrested by officer Kermeen of the Madison County Sheriff’s office and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center. Ms. Martin was charged with the following charges:
1. Wanton Endangerment 1st
2. Speeding 25mph or More Over Speed Limit
3. Fleeing or Evading Police – 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
4. Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 1st Degree/ Aggravated Circumstances
5. Leaving the Scene of an accident/ failure to render aid or assistance
6. Failure to wear seatbelt
7. Failure to Produce Insurance Card
The case remains under investigation by Trooper Darrell Hutchison. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel.
