At approximately 8:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 29th, Berea Fire Department responded to I-75 at the 82 mile marker on the north bound side for a vehicle accident involving a semi-truck. Upon arrival the crews found that a semi-truck and trailer had left the roadway and went over the embankment into a lightly wooded area.
The truck and trailer then caught fire. As of 10:30 A.M. crews are still on scene working to extinguish the fire. Due to the location and nature of this incident, expect delays in this area for at least 2-3 more hours while crews ensure the safety of all involved. There will be lanes shut down in this area until crews clear the scene.
