The Laurel County Sheriff’s office is now conducting a death investigation after a body was found off Laurel River Church Road on Wednesday afternoon.
The body was discovered by a homeowner while checking her mail around noon that day. The deceased was confirmed to be a woman reported missing earlier in the day. She has been identified as Deanna Barrett aged 48 of London.
An autopsy will be conducted in Frankfort to determine the cause and manner of death. The investigation is currently still pending, and more information will be published when available.
