MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A bad accident backed up traffic for hours Sunday morning.
It happened around 11 a.m. on northbound I-75 around mile marker 90.
Officials say a tractor trailer was northbound in the center lane when it started swerving, went into the left lane, hit a car, then went into the median. At some point, the plywood (from the load) became detached and flew into southbound lanes.
Seven vehicles were involved in the accident. Occupants had minor injuries
The coroner confirms that the truck driver died. It is believed to have been a medical emergency. An autopsy is scheduled.
