After a reported computer glitch delayed results out of Estill County until around 9 pm election night, the final results of the Kentucky 91st District race can be called, unofficially.
Incumbent Bill Wesley narrowly defeated challenger Darrel Billings for a second time. Albeit this time, by a small margin of around 150 votes.
Powell County results showed Billings running strong in his home county, winning with a total of 717 to Wesley’s 319 votes. A difference of 398 votes.
Billings padded his lead in part of Madison County winning 346 votes to Wesley’s’ 249 votes. Picking up another 97 votes, bringing his lead going into Estill County to 495 votes.
Estill County, however, proved to by Billing’s waterloo again. Wesley carried his home county by garnishing 1055 votes to Billings 407. Taking Estill by 648 votes. After the math, that left an unofficial difference of 153 votes district wide in Wesley’s favor..
Voter turnout was extremely lower in the district, and statewide, this primary than when the two ran two years ago.
