High waters in a creek off Red Lick Road near Berea was the culprit for the death of a local 6-year-old.
Madison County coroner Jimmy Cornelison says that Leo Xavier Shouse was with family members and fishing along the creek when he slipped into the significantly deep water.
A search then ensued for almost an hour, when he was located and attempts to resuscitate him were made. However, Cornelison pronounced him deceased at the hospital. Stay tuned for the Live at Five Newscast for the full story from the Coroner.
