The Estill County Coroner’s office was called out around noon today, December 18, 2023, after the discovery of a body in Irvine.
The man, who appears to be in his 50’s, was found just off South Madison Avenue next to the railroad tracks.
Official say the man’s body was found by a bystander and foul play is not suspected at this time.
The body has been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy and for a positive identification.
His identity will be revealed after family is found and notified.
