A Lexington man has died from injuries sustained in an accident Friday in Fayette County
The two vehicle accident occurred on Winchester Road and Bahama Road.
According to the Fayette County Coroner’s office, 54-year-old Billy Joe Williamson, Jr. of Lexington succumbed to his injuries just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
The cause of death is officially classified as multiple blunt force injuries.
The initial investigation revealed that an intoxicated driver crossed the center line, leading to the collision, according to Lexington PD.
Williamson was an employee at LEX 18 News, the station saying “He will be dearly missed by the LEX 18 family.”
The death is being investigated as an accident.
