Kentucky State Police in Morehead are investigating a fatal collision yesterday August 29, 2023, in Wolfe County. Just before 5 pm, KSP received a call for assistance from the Wolfe County Dispatch regarding a three-vehicle collision. The collision occurred on KY 9009 near the 49-mile marker.
Investigators say Kennedy Lambert, 20 years of age from Campton, was driving a 2009 Honda when she crossed the center line, striking a 2023 Freightliner commercial vehicle, being operated by Ernest Fields, 37 years of age from Hephzibah, Ga.
Mr. Fields’s vehicle was then struck by a 2020 Chevy Equinox, operated by Gregory Cielak, 54 years of age from Wyoming, Ohio.
Kennedy Lambert was pronounced deceased by Wolfe County Coroner, Frank Porter. Gregory Cielak was transported to Morgan County ARH Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
KSP was assisted by Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Wolfe County Sheriff’s Department, Wolfe County Coroner’s Office, Wolfe County EMS, and Wolfe County Fire and Rescue. This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Morehead.
