After a dog was seen being killed on social media, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department has updated that they now have a man in custody. Following the continuing investigation, detectives have arrested 18-year-old Toby Glen Harrison of East Bernstadt and charged him with cruelty to animals, torture of a dog or cat –serious injury or death, and two counts of unlawful transaction with a minor. They report that the torture of a dog or cat is a Class D Felony charge.
Police report that Harrison was allegedly at a residence with two minors that were intoxicated. A dog at the home was then allegedly tortured and killed. This individual stated that he was going to kill the dog, and it was seen on a video published to social media. Harrison has been lodged in the Laurel County correctional center, and the investigation is continuing.
Laurel Sheriff’s detectives have also charged a 17-year-old male juvenile from Laurel County with cruelty to animals and torture of a dog or cat. This individual was transported by court order to the juvenile detention facility in Breathitt County.
