10th planet Richmond traveled to compete at a Fuji Brazilian jiu jitsu tournament this time not leaving the state to compete against fellow Kentuckians in Louisville. Competitors from the kentuckiana area came out to see who could top the podium.
10th planet Richmond coaches did not have high expectations going in to the event as many of their regular competitorsare out for the holiday. Despite the low expectations the youth team was able to come away as the youth team champions.
Standouts included Odin Burgin and Ian Davis. Odin submitted a vast majority of his opponents with a specialized submission the powder leg even taking 1st in the absolute divisions. Ian Davis was able to walk away from his divisions with double gold. After his successes he also stepped into a nogi expert match to test his skill, winning with two submissions. The team overall showed vast improvements.
Up next the renowned Fuji BJJ tournament led by Tim Morthland will be held in Richmond, KY. The 10th planet Richmond team hope to showcase their talents locally.
