Today marks the 10-year anniversary of Brookelyn Farthings disappearance in Madison County, and her family is still fighting hard to find her and to keep her story alive. Farthing was last seen near Berea 10 years ago today, and no one has ever been charged in the case.
Farthings nephew, Dylan Mayes, tells WBON-TV9 he was only 10 years old when his aunt vanished. He remembers Brookelyn as one of the most loving, charitable and caring people he ever knew. Mayes expressed the family is still hopeful someone has some information that will help and stressed its never too late. “We need help so our family can have closure.”
The last known facts about this case indicates Farthing had been at a party and texted family saying she felt unsafe. She was last seen early that Saturday morning at a home on Dillon Court in Berea.
The person who owned that home has told authorities he left Farthing at the house and when he returned, the home was on fire. Farthings personal items were found inside, but no one has seen her since.
Trooper Justin Kearny with KSP Post 7 in Richmond reminds everyone, any piece of information, no matter how small someone thinks it might be, could be helpful in the investigation and solve the decade long mystery.
