Madison County Man Arrested for Alleged Involvement in Overdose

Yesterday morning, Joshua Delarose was arrested after the execution of a complaint warrant regarding his alleged involvement with the overdose of Michael W. Grimes.

Earlier this year in May, Richmond police responded to a call regarding an unresponsive male on Tulip Drive. That male victim was pronounced deceased and later identified as Michael W Grimes. Toxicology results showed Grimes tested positive for opiates, methamphetamines, and more.

Officials then report examining the victim’s phone which showed many conversations between Delarose and Grimes allegedly discussing the sale and purchase of illegal drugs. Those text messages led to the complaint warrant that police acted on yesterday leading to the arrest of 37-year-old Joshua Delarose.

He was arrested and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center on charges of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Manslaughter 2nd Degree
